What Happened, America ? is an exhibit of political commentary. The exhibit consists entirely of 3-dimensional flags, which are used to represent the ideals upon which the country was founded. The flag images are then altered in various ways to comment on contemporary issues, such as the demise of the Constitution and the cult of governance by fear. The show reflects on the Iraq war as well as on the “Patriot” Act, attacks on privacy, and the growing police state.
