MORE INFORMATION

The Journeys exhibit documents Jacqué Mills-Weir's latest environmental installations in central Wisconsin.  Journeys was actually made up of two separate but related figures: The Journey Beyond and The Journey WithinThe Journey Beyond was a flattened pyramid shape dealing with male essence and the journey of man's soul.  It was approximately 180' by 160'.  The Journey Within was a triangular shape dealing with the female essence.  It was 160' on each side.

The installations were located 14 miles northwest of Monroe, Wisconsin, on 2.3 acres of Brohm prairie grass which had remained untilled for 20 years.  Installation of the projects began in May, 2005, and completed in mid-August.  The creation process involved mowing and weed-whacking down to bare soil to create a pattern visible from the ground and from air.  Aerial and ground-based photography were heavily used to fine-tune the designs.
